Dream Team Top 10 Cheap Strikers

With a tight budget for next seasons game I thought it would be useful to look at my top 10 cheap strikers. I personally like to spend big in attacking areas and this seems to have paid off in the past. However if you’ve gone for a stronger defensive the list of cheap strikers below may be useful.

Defoe – Bournemouth (4m)

Points last season: 105
Games played last season: 40

Proven goalscorer in the Premier League and could be a very good cheap option at 4m. Should get a lot of game time at Bournemouth but obviously won’t be involved in any European competitions.

Rashford – Man Utd (4m)

Points last season: 114
Games played last season: 52

Should Rashford get more game time next season he could be a bargain at 4m. I can’t see him playing as the out and out striker at Old Trafford but should be certain to get some opportunities. Having said that he could be a risky move due to so many uncertainties over his place in the starting eleven.

Benteke – Palace (4m)

Points last season: 180
Games played last season: 40

The only striker from the bottom half of the table to get into the top 10 highest scorers from last season. He could be another good option this year, however he also won’t have any European fixtures.

Pedro – Chelsea (4m)

Points last season: 152
Games played last season: 43

Chelsea currently don’t have a first choice striker for the start of the season. I’d imagine this will change before August but Pedro should still get a lot of game time. Possibly even more so than last season with Chelsea now in the Champions League.

Rooney – Everton (3m)

Points last season: 97
Games played last season: 38

With his recent move to Everton Rooney should be highly motivated for the start of next season. I’d imagine he will play in the number 10 role so may get slightly fewer chances in front of goal. However at 3m he could be worth a risk, especially with Everton in the Europa League (subject to qualification).

Giroud – Arsenal (4m)

Points last season: 130
Games played last season: 40

I’ve always been a fan of Giroud, if he started every game for Arsenal I’m certain he would grab 25+ goals every year across all competitions. Should he stay at Arsenal opportunities to pick up points could be few and far between. If he moves on he could pick up a lot of points.

Gayle – Newcastle (2.5m)

Points last season: n/a
Games played last season: n/a

Gayle scored a lot of goals for Newcastle last season, at 2.5m he could be a real bargain. The club will be looking to secure long term Premier League status and he should get a lot of opportunities to score plenty of points.

Gabbiadini – Southampton (3.5m)

Points last season: 43
Games played last season: 12

Gabbiadini made an instant impression on the Premier League last season. He looked like an assured goal scorer and managed 43 points from only 12 games. He’s also available at a bargain price but it remains to be seen if he can consistently perform.

Iheanacho – Man City (2.5m)

Points last season: 61
Games played last season: 29

Iheanacho looks set to leave City over the summer. Should be move to club where he will get regular football he could have a fantastic season. It’s a big risk but at 2.5 he could free up funds for some premium options.

Ramirez – Everton (2.5m)

Points last season: n/a
Games played last season: n/a

I don’t know too much Ramirez, however if he becomes the main man up front for Everton this season he could have the potential to hit a huge points total. They have extra Europa League fixtures and have strengthened their squad already.

    1. He could do well and Southampton do have a good start. However I think all of the above are likely to score better over the course of the season. Plus he’s only selected by 0.6% of people meaning he’s not much of a risk to exclude.
