Review of Game Week 46

Review of Game Week 46

GW Points: 93
Overall Points: 2,306
Overall Rank: 1,342
Transfers: Salah out, Aubameyang in

I couldn’t have asked for any more from game week 46. My final transfer couldn’t have gone much better with Aubameyang picking up 20 points and with one more fixture to play. A whopping 93 points gave the team a big boost on the leaderboard as well. This is the highest position I’ve been in all season which is the ideal time to peak.

Positives:

A clean sheet for all of my defenders and the star man award for AWB. This makes up for the disaster of last week when I bought him in.

A goal for all of my midfielders and in particular 20 points for De Bruyne.

A goal for Jesus – expected a little more against Norwich but it was better than a blank.

20 points for Aubameyang and two goals.

Potential Issues:

The game week couldn’t have been a better end to the season. The only issue is that I now only have one player in the FA Cup final. There is nothing I can do about this with no transfers remaining.

Tips for Game Week 47

The only fixture remaining is the FA Cup final. The player I wanted for this game was Aubameyang so I bought him in this week. If you’ve got transfers remaining I’d go for players who you think might grab a goal during the game rather than defensive assets.

Finally, good luck to those in the running for the Dream Team Tips mini league. I’m not sure if we’ve already got a winner as I don’t know who has transfers left but we will find out after the FA Cup final.

A quick note on next season

  1. Good week that Paul! Somehow your ‘stranger things have happened’ comment on my situation came to fruition and I’m now 4 points clear going into the Final up from 1. I was a sitting duck with no transfers and my rival with two available and having DDG, TAA & Salah to my Pat, AWB & Rashford. I honestly thought yesterday was game over for me but I fight to live another day! Not only that, he blew one of his two remaining transfers on Maguire to Laporte (believing European fixtures still counted!) for one extra point only so he now only has one transfer left for the Final which he needs to nail… We both have Aubamayang. £550 at stake!

    1. Wow, that is close Brad. Well done on hanging onto that top spot for now! Who do you foresee him going for? Giroud? Pulisic?

On Chelsea, one I’ll be watching next season is Ziyech. They have quite an embarrassment of riches in midfield when everyone is fit and it makes you wonder where the likes of CHO are going to fit in.

I’ll also be interested to see what Werner’s price will be too. I’d expect him to do very well in the PL with the midfield that Chelsea have.

      1. I’m not sure if I’m honest, he thinks I’ve got a transfer left and will be going for Giroud… Is it a bit shithouse if I don’t tell him otherwise lol? Fair play to him though if he pips me, I’ve tried to block him a few times but he’s clawed me back each time.

Chelsea will certainly be an attacking force next season won’t they. They might find it a bit tougher in the CL than the EL now but I will certainly be keeping an eye on them if they’re attractively priced.

        1. Brad.
If he’s stupid enough to put Laporte in with one game to go I’d let him think you have one transfer left. It’s not down to you to tell him how the game is played 🙂
I put Aubameyang in this week n it got my level with 2nd place. I also messed up by taking Mane out for Pulsic which lost me points but with Mane being on the bench and Pulsic having a cup final this week I thought it was a no brainer. Joint 2nd also thinks I have one more transfer.
Fingers Crossed for 2nd as he has 1 transfer left and I believe he has to put Aubameyang in n just hope Pulsic does nothing.

          DTT
          Thanks again for this site.
I love reading all the comments, it really gets me thinking about stuff. I’ve already signed up for next year.

Good Luck in the cup final men

          John Smith

    2. Sounds good Brad – that’s pretty close going into the final game. Hopefully he blows his last transfer on someone who does very little in the final

  2. 97 points for my top (active) three teams – it must be my lucky number. All teams are within the 1k rank – the highest one close to top 100. So a good season for me.

      1. Looks like you’ve had a very good season. I gave up on all of my other teams so only have one that’s doing well. Fortunately, it’s the team I talk about on here. You’ve lost me with my magic number though?

        1. I would say your lucky number is 93 – you started the league season with 93 points (GW1) and finished it with 93 points.

  3. I put Pulisic in for Mane, hope he does better in the final.
I need 10 points on Saturday and 2 transfers left so thinking Aubamayang and Giraud.
Thanks to everybody on this site for the contributions, I’ve signed up again and can’t wait for September

  4. Auba was a great move DTT! Well done mate.

Gents, I’m 5 pts behind my ML leader. He has no players in the final and neither do I but I have one transfer left he doesn’t.

Do I go for the explosiveness of Auba or the rather more consistent Giroud?

Would love your expert opinions 😉

    1. I have gone for Aubameyang
but you could toss a coin between the to.
remember you have to do transfer on friday.

      1. Why Friday? Surely you can do the transfer just before the match starts. Am i missing something?

    2. Cheers Badge. Sounds like theres a lot at stake with one transfer left and so little in it. I wouldn’t want to say one way or the other as it’s bound to go the opposite way of what I suggest. However, personally I had a similar choice to make and Giroud was never on my radar and Aubameyang was top of the list. In all honesty it’s a lottery so whoever you go for, it could easily just not be your day.

  5. WhoScored Team of the season (ratings based)

    Leno
    Pereira
    VVD
    Tarkowski
    Digne
    Traore
    KDB
    Maddison
    Mane
    Martial
    Kane

I must admit there are some names in there I didn’t expect and to not see Trent in there is preposterous in my view. Worth making a note of some of these names though when considering player selection for next season…

    1. Very surprised to see Leno as the goalkeeper and that Tarkowski is in there at all

  6. A fair few stats coming out now in the Twittersphere…

    Most Goals + Assists 19/20

    🇧🇪 Kevin De Bruyne (33)
    🇪🇬 Mohamed Salah (29)
    🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Jamie Vardy (28)
    🇬🇦 Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (25)
    🇸🇳 Sadio Mané (25)
    🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Danny Ings (24)
    🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Marcus Rashford (24)
    🇲🇽 Raul Jimenez (23)
    🇫🇷 Anthony Martial (23)

  7. Most PL Goals Over The Last 2 Seasons

    🇬🇦 Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (44)
    🇪🇬 Mohamed Salah (41)
    🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Jamie Vardy (41)
    🇸🇳 Sadio Mané (40)
    🇦🇷 Sergio Aguero (37)
    🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Raheem Sterling (37)
    🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Harry Kane (35)

      1. It’s a tricky one and I was listening to Scoutcast discussing the same issue for next season’s FPL. So many teams now just play with the one out and out striker with wider playing forwards/wingers….call them what you will, either side.

Not an easy job to classify those players tbh. Maybe those players who play so advanced like Sterling & Mane should indeed be classified as forwards. I guess those striker positions would be pretty top heavy with choices though. But then the same goes for the midfield positions if you have them there too. Not sure where I stand on it tbh…🤔

  8. Most Chances Created By Defenders 19/20

    🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Trent Alexander-Arnold (87)
    🇫🇷 Lucas Digne (72)
    🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Andy Robertson (60)
    🇪🇸 Cesar Azpilicueta (45)
    🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Ben Chilwell (34)
    🇮🇪 Enda Stevens (34)

    1. TAA is basically a right-sided midfielder within that Liverpool team with how they play.

    2. Thanks for sharing Chris – these will be very useful in the build up to the new season. I’m very much stat based myself. I can’t say I even watch much football so going off previous data is what helps me make decisions.

        1. I’ve always played and watched football so I know enough about it but I rarely have the time or the access to watch football anymore. With regards to Dream Team specifically – to have a half decent season I quickly realised it’s mainly about picking the obvious big point scorers, remembering to make transfers and generally just keeping on top of it more than most people. You can base most of your decisions on stats such as how many points players scored last season. If you look at the top 20 highest scoring players – every year it’s the same names. Of course a bit of luck along the way helps.

  9. Before today I was 16 points behind a ML rival who I have a £100 side bet with. I had Aubameyang…… he had nobody today.

    You absolute beauty!!!!!!!!!!💰💰💪💪

The arrogant tosser even sent me his bank details last week so it tastes even sweeter.🍾

        1. Boom nice one Chris that will have been very sweet for you indeed after he sent you his acc details lol! I managed to win my cash ML by 4pts (rival put in Lacazette – both have AUB) so £550 coming my way and a new title retaining status for me as well 💪

          1. Cheers guys, and nicely done Brad! That’s a very nice pot of winnings!

I beat him by 2 points in the end so I’ll bet he’s seething! 😂

    1. Well done Chris it was the same story for me needed Aubameyang to score last game of the season feels so good

      1. Brilliant David! Always nice to end the season on a high note. Well done!

It’s been a bit of a slog this season tbh so looking forward to attacking next season in a few weeks. Keep an eye out for a goalkeeper review which I’m working on to help with our selection choices next season. I hope to cover all positions before the season begins.

    2. 😂 that is brilliant. To have the cheek to send you his bank details before it was all over – backfired in the best way possible.
