The team performed OK this week with a slight rise on the leaderboard. Not everything went to plan but most of my players performed well or better than expected. I was particularly happy with 21 points from Eze and Rogers. I was also happy with 16 points from Asensio. It was a little frustrating to see Haaland pick up an injury especially as I’d picked him as captain. It wasn’t a great return from Raya either, and Porro being benched again wasn’t ideal. But all in all I was happy with how the week went.
Here is my breakdown of each player:
Raya – 3 points wasn’t great, and I’d probably swap him out if I had a transfer that I didn’t want to use elsewhere.
Gvardiol – happy with a rare clean sheet for City.
Porro – didn’t play, so may need replacing, Spurs do have a double game week coming up, though, so he should start at least one game.
Dalot – 3 point wasn’t good but there is a double game week coming up so I’m happy to hold him.
Asensio – good returns from his first week in my team, happy to hold onto him.
Rogers – another that I’m keen to keep with Villa still in Europe and the FA Cup.
Fernandes – season long pick.
Palmer – happy with 8 points from Palmer, he’s a keeper for now.
Eze – brilliant return from Eze, but may move him on due to a single game week coming up.
Salah – season long pick.
Haaland – needs replacing due to injury.

Player watchlist
Saka – back from injury and could be a good replacement for Haaland.
Son – Spurs playing Southampton and then having an Europa League fixture makes Son an appealing option.
Watkins – could be a good option, but I’m not sure I want 3 Villa players.
Plan for game week 30
Transfers this week should be fairly straightforward. I’m almost certain I’ll swap Haaland for Saka, given that Arsenal have a double game week and there aren’t a huge number of options. I’m then very tempted to bring Son in for Eze. Other than Eze, I’ve only got Salah and Gvardiol, who have single game weeks – I want to keep Salah, and I’m not sure there’s another defender that I’m really eager to put in ahead of Gvardiol.
