I pretty much held my position on the leaderboard during game week 36, which is a little frustrating as I look to finish the season higher than I did last time around (275th). The main things that went against me were the results in the two big finals over the week. Palace beating City didn’t help with Gvardiol not getting a clean sheet, my captain in Haaland not getting big points and Marmoush missing a penalty. I picked up points from Eze, but Munoz scored well when I’d banked on City scoring. Interestingly, not owning Munoz didn’t really affect my overall rank though. Bringing in Garnacho as a differential didn’t pan out either, with him being on the bench for both games – strange really as he looked bright when he came on and I can’t see him starting in the final game of the season either.
Looking ahead to the final round of fixtures, I could just accept my position and bring in obvious players and stay roughly where I am on the leaderboard, or I could go for it with some different options. I’ve got nothing to lose, so I may do a combination of both. I’ll probably captain Palmer and I think most will. The sensible move from here would be to bring back Saka for the Southampton game and another Chelsea player. However, I may take a risk and not bring Saka in. I’m certainly taking Garnacho out and I may lose Fernandes as well in case he doesn’t play either. I’m tempted to then just stick in Ferandez and Neto and see what happens with their double game week. This could be the only way I’ll get near last years final leaderboard position. If it backfires, I may lose some places but that doesn’t even really matter at this stage. I will confirm my final decision tomorrow once we’ve heard all of the press conferences though.
