Game week 29 was a flat game week, mostly due to Arsenal losing to City in the cup final. Bringing in Fernandes paid off but this wasn’t enough to boost the team up the leaderboard. It’s now looking like a difficult decision with Timber, Gabriel and Saliba potentially injured going into game week 30. If Arsenal had no injuries, I did think my team was well set up for the next game week and even planned to bring in someone like Rice as an additional Arsenal player. I also felt a little unlucky that Ekiteke picked up an early injury.
Here is my breakdown of each player:
Raya – didn’t play. Still a season long pick for me.
Timber – didn’t play, but I’ll keep him if he’s back from injury.
Saliba – I hoped Arsenal would score against City, but it wasn’t to be. This cost me 10 points with Nunes scoring 13 and Saliba only picking up 3.
Gabriel – poor game week however, I plan to hold him if he’s not injured.
Szoboszlai – 4 points wasn’t great. I’ll hold with a double game week coming up for Liverpool.
Fernandes – paid off for a week but needs to be removed with Man Utd not playing this week.
Fernandez – 6 points wasn’t the end of the world, considering I swapped him for Palmer to free up funds.
Saka – relatively poor week, but I’ll hold with good fixtures next week.
Pedro – another typical Pedro performance, scores well when I don’t have him, poor week when I do. Not sure if he plays in the FA Cup, so I may move him on.
Ekitike – happy to keep him if he’s not injured, but it sounds like he might be OK
Haaland – another poor performance, but I’ll probably just hold onto him

Plan for game week 30
I’ll review after the international break, but I’ll be looking to remove Fernandes for certain. I’ll also consider what I do with Enzo Fernandez and Pedro. The only players I’m likely to consider bringing in are Arsenal or Liverpool players, given that they have double game weeks. Rice is top of my list at the moment, but I’ll see what injury news we get after the break before making a decision.
