With the game about to be released, it’s useful to take stock of the best performing players from last season. This blog outlines the top 10 highest scoring defenders for the 2024/2025 season. Hopefully, this information will be useful for team selection for the next campaign.
1. Munoz (Crystal Palace) – 305 points
2. Porro (Spurs) – 295 points
3. Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool) – 294 points
4. Gvardiol (Man City) – 270 points
5. van Dijk (Liverpool) – 263 points
6. Mazraoui (Man Utd) – 236 points
7. Saliba (Arsenal) – 234 points
8. Ait-Nouri (now Man City) – 231 points
9. Timber (Arsenal) – 229 points
10. Mitchell (Palace) – 226 points
Once again we see that teams who finish higher up in the league or those who had a good run in European competitions have more representation than teams lower down. With the main exception being the highest point scoring defender in Munoz who had a brilliant season. At this stage, it’s hardly worth considering defenders from teams outside of these clubs for the season ahead, much easier said than done though as all of the players above come at a high cost. It’s also worth noting that most defenders didn’t score particularly well last season with only three making the top 20 highest point scorers on the game.
