End of season review

On a personal note the season didn’t pan out as I’d have hoped. A few early game week disasters left me playing catch up and it become too much of a mountain to climb to push for a top 1,000 position. I’m not too disheartened after finishing 325th last season and 275th the season before, I was due some bad luck. Given that I offer complete transparency with every decision I make (I publish my transfers in advance every single week without fail), there is always the risk of having a season where things don’t go as planned.

I’m not sure what I can take out of the season in terms of learnings – I tend to play a fairly simple and risk adverse game. I look ahead at the fixtures, have a plan and stick to the well known consistent point scorers. This seems to be enough to have done well in previous seasons but just didn’t pan out this time around.

The Dream Team Tips Mini League was very competitive as usual, which shows the high standards and community value the platform brings as we’ve got some exceptional players in the group. Congratulations to Terry who won the league and to Alex and Dan or their second and third place finishes. I’ll be in touch to send over the prize money.

Thank you all for not only following along this season, but for your contributions, insights, and banter – it’s this incredible community that makes it all worthwhile. Wishing you a fantastic summer (if you’re not playing the World Cup game), and I look forward to hopefully welcoming everyone back for another exciting season. If you are playing the World Cup game, I’ll be setting up new WhatsApp groups for this as soon as the game launches.
