Review of Game Week 11

Review of Game Week 11

Really good game week, up to a decent position on the leaderboard with plenty of time still to go in the season and two boosters left to play. After a few tough weeks, the last two game weeks have been a real turnaround in fortune. My transfers also paid off – also proof that listening to other people does help. I was intent on putting in Dalot and Johnson over Mazraoui and Solanke. This would have cost me a decent amount of points but feedback within the WhatsApp group was that Mazraoui was a better pick so it swayed me in his direction. Hopefully this continues long term. It’s also worth noting that there was some doubt over picking Man Utd players as well but this has probably been the main reason I’ve climbed the leaderboard of late. Despite very inconsistent results this season, they did have some plum fixtures so it was logically the right move and it’s paid off massively.

Here is my breakdown of each player:

Kelleher – good week with 8 points. Will probably need to be moved on soon though with Alisson returning from injury.

Mazraoui – brilliant first week in my team with 10 points on the board.

Gvardiol – awful 2 points but won’t be knee jerking by taking him out.

Alexander-Arnold – frustrating injury, would have got a clean sheet but it wasn’t to be. Hopefully it’s not a long term injury.

Saka – another injury before the international break. Hopefully not a long term one but will have to keep an eye on this.

Rogers – poor 1 point from Rogers but they were playing Liverpool. He’s returned good points for his value so far so I’ll probably keep him.

Fernandes – delighted with 17 points. Stays in for the rise and good fixtures.

Garnacho – scored more in this single game week coming off the bench than he did in the double last week. Stays in for now.

Solanke – 5 points wasn’t great, will be coming out for the next game week.

Haaland – solid 10 points for Haaland. Glad it wasn’t a huge amount more as I picked Salah as captain.

Salah – decent 14 points as my captain. Stays in my team.

Player watchlist

I’m not doing a watchlist this week as we have an international break and there’s too much in the equation with potential injuries.

Plan for game week 12

Again I’ve not got a solid plan for game week 12 yet as there are potential injuries in the equation. However, if Saka and TAA are fit, then I’d be looking to take out Solanke for certain as Spurs play City. I could look at players from Liverpool who play Southampton, Man Utd who play Ipswich or Chelsea who play Leicester but at this stage it’s too early to make any decision. I’ll put together a blog of my choices next week when we are closer to a return from the break.
