Review of Game Week 14

Review of Game Week 14

Another good game week. I’m glad to have broke into the top 1000 of the leaderboard. My game week was pretty much a success, down to picking the right captain in Saka and getting high scores from Fernandes and Palmer. The rest of my team was fairly average with none of my defence scoring over 5 points and Odegaard pretty much blanking. Regardless, I still feel like I’m in a very good position with my goal booster bonus still to play and sitting just inside the top 1,000 on the leaderboard.

Here is my breakdown of each player:

Forster – 5 points isn’t amazing but not awful from a 1.9m player.

Mazraoui – not happy with 5 points and starting on the bench. Man Utd have tough fixtures this week as well so he may have to come out.

Timber – annoyed that Timber missed out on a clean sheet in the Champions League. Didn’t have a great week due to this but has good fixtures coming up.

Dalot – another one where I’m not happy with 5 points and has tough fixtures coming up.

Saka – brilliant 29 points from Saka, pick and stick for me.

Johnson – not overly pleased with 7 points from Johnson but he’s been a good point scorer to date so I’ll stick with him.

Fernandes – brilliant 21 points from Fernandes, stays in for now despite difficult games coming up.

Odegaard – not happy with just 5 points, may consider swapping him for Havertz. I think the logic was right in going for an Arsenal player but I’m not sure I want to lose value on him.

Palmer – brilliant return from a single fixture. He’s a hold now we are approaching a break from European fixtures.

Haaland – 13 points from Haaland is enough for me to keep him.

Salah – steady 10 points from Salah in a single game week.

Player watchlist

Havertz – for Arsenal’s good run of upcoming fixtures and he could go up in value.

Robertson – Liverpool have a good set of fixtures on the horizon, Robertson could be an improvement on Mazraoui or Dalot.

Mbeumo – has scored well all season and now we don’t need to worry about European fixtures he could be a good option again.

Alexander-Arnold – almost certain to score well but I don’t see a way of getting him in at the moment.

Isak – Newcastle have a double game week and Isak has been in form.

Kulusevski – seems to consistently be picking up points, if I had the luxury of more transfers I’d probably consider him.

Plan for game week 15

There are a few options this week and I’ve not settled on which route to go down yet. A strong possibility would be to take out either Mazraoui or Dalot and bring in Robertson. This was a move I favoured last week before the Merseyside Derby was postponed and I still think it’s a good option. I’m less sure where to go next though. I could take Odegaard out for Havertz and I think this would be an OK move – a little sideways but at least I won’t lose value in my team and it would create some extra budget. It’s one of those moves though where Havertz outscored Odegaad this week but you wouldn’t be surprised if the opposite happens next week. I could also look at taking out both Mazraoui and Dalot. My only problem is that I don’t really see many better options for defenders at the moment at this price point. If I put Robertson in and then sort by the highest scoring players that I can afford Mazraoui and Dalot come out top of this list so it’s hardly worth taking them both out at this stage. I’ll ponder the decision until tomorrow morning.
