Another respectable game week resulted in a small climb on the leaderboard, I’m happy to be within the top 500 teams given where we are in the season. The week was far from perfect but I’ve got no real complaints considering that I didn’t make any transfers last week. Most of my players performed relatively well and the captain choice wasn’t a bad one with Haaland. Holding Gordon for the Southampton game didn’t really pay off but there’s nothing to say that I’d be have been better off with someone else.
Here is my breakdown of each player:
Martinez – 6 points isn’t a great return but good enough.
Gvardiol – very happy with 18 points, difficult single game week coming up though.
Timber – 11 points was a good return after a slow few weeks for Timber.
Alexander-Arnold – 8 points was OK from TAA considering he only played one fixture.
Kulusevski – happy with another 11 points for Kulusevski, keeps chipping away with consistent points each week. Stays in for me.
Foden – decent 12 points, tough single game week coming up though.
Gordon – not a great return but does have a double game week coming up now.
Fernandes – slightly disappointed with 8 points across 2 fixtures.
Son – I’d have liked a little more but can’t really complain about 12 points from Son.
Haaland – season long pick.
Salah – season long pick.

Player watchlist
van Dijk – I’m tempted to try and get van Dijk in with Liverpool being the only team to have two double game weeks coming up.
Porro – keeps scoring well regardless of Spurs performances. Has high ownership within the top 1000 teams as well.
Rogers – probably missed the boat after a hat trick but I’ll consider him an option.
Diaz – should get game time with Liverpool’s upcoming fixtures but hasn’t really been in good point scoring form.
Isak – another good option with a double game week coming up for Newcastle.
Gakpo – in great form and as I’ve said Liverpool are the only team with two double game weeks coming up.
Plan for game week 22
I’ve got three transfers available this week after not using any last week. A bold move would be to bring in van Dijk, Isak and Gakpo. Realistically I could only take out Son (still has a double game week), Haaland (single game week against Arsenal) and one of my defenders. It’s a huge risk when I’m already doing well on the leaderboard but if it pays off it could push me further up. My plan would be to keep Gakpo and van Dijk for next weeks double game week. Alternatively, I could go for Gakpo or Isak for Son or Haaland. Feels strange to take Son out when he’s done OK for me and Spurs do also have a double game week but Isak feels like a slightly better option. As the deadline isn’t until tomorrow morning, I’ll give myself a bit more time to think about it.
