Another positive game week with a small climb on the leaderboard if additional points are not assigned overnight (I’ve started writing this blog on Wednesday night). Considering it was an FA Cup week I was pleased to avoid any serious damage from players other people took a punt on such as Marmoush, Díaz, Bradley and Palmer. I’m happy that I stuck with regular starters so I don’t have any major transfer headaches going into next week. It was a shame that Liverpool couldn’t manage a clean sheet against Everton as well but 89 points still feels like a good return given how few players got minutes this week.
Here is my breakdown of each player:
Martinez – 5 points wasn’t awful, I’ll stick with him.
Gvardiol – shame City conceded 2 late goals but 6 points was OK for Gvardiol.
Van Dijk – 1 point wasn’t great from van Dijk but I’ll keep hold of him.
Robertson – poor return from Roberton but Liverpool do have another double game week next week so it’s tempting to keep him, unless I want Alexander-Arnold straight back in.
Kulusevski – happy with 10 points from an FA Cup game. Hold for me.
Foden – 9 points was OK from Foden considering he didn’t start a game this week. I’ll hold him for the double game week coming up.
Gordon – I wasn’t overly shocked that Gordon didn’t play at the weekend, may move him on this week with Newcastle facing City.
Fernandes – decent returns from a single game week.
Gakpo – not a good return but I’ll hold for the double game week coming up.
Haaland – season long pick.
Salah – season long pick.

Player watchlist
Rogers – double game week coming up for Villa and Rogers is a player in form.
Alexander-Arnold – it’s tempting to put him straight back in despite a low scoring week, he’s got high ownership in the top 1,000 so it helps avoid that risk of dropping down the rankings.
Savinho – should go up in value but not sure he’s a long term option for me.
Plan for game week 24
I’m not seeing a huge number of options this week. I’ve got more than enough options to simply swap Gordon for Rogers who should go up in value and has a double game week. I could then bring Alexander-Arnold straight back in for Roberton. Liverpool also have a double game week. These are probably quite boring moves as I’ll have a team similar to everyone else’s but I’m very happy with my overall position on the leaderboard so I don’t see the value in taking too many risks if there aren’t any obvious stand out players. I’ll confirm for certain either way on Friday.
