Review of Game Week 25

Review of Game Week 25

GW Points: 171
Overall Points: 3286
Overall Rank: 516

Another fairly average game week this week. 171 points felt like a big score but the likes of Mbeumo outscoring Palmer really didn’t go in my favour so I’ve suffered a slight drop on the leaderboard. Reasonably big scores from Van Dijk, Diaz, Munoz and Isak didn’t really help either as their ownership is relatively high. Foden and Martinez let me down a little bit as well but given my score I was a little surprised to see that I’d dropped on the leaderboard.

Here is my breakdown of each player:

Martinez – 6 points wasn’t great again and he’s now potentially injured.

Gvardiol – 10 points is a half decent return from Gvardiol. Question marks against him now City are out of the Champions League though.

Porro – would have been better off holding onto Van Dijk, Porro appeared a better option but didn’t even start the first fixture.

Alexander-Arnold – very happy with 16 points this week, sticking with him.

Kulusevski – happy with 12 points from Kulusevski, stays in my team despite only having the Europa League this week.

Foden – 6 points wasn’t great at all considering the double game week. City only play Plymouth in the FA Cup this week and I can’t be sure he will start either so big question mark next to him for this week.

Rogers – happy with 13 points from Rogers, will hold for the double game week coming up.

Fernandes – very happy with 27 points, definitely keeping him for the double game week ahead.

Palmer – 12 points was an OK return but I’d hoped for a little more. Not sure if he will start in Europe either this week.

Haaland – season long pick.

Salah – season long pick.

Player watchlist

Alisson – tempted to swap Martinez for another keeper if he’s injured. The only issue is Liverpool only play once this week and if Martinez is fit, he will potentially play in an easier Champions League fixture.

Tielemans – an option considering Villa have a double game week. Can’t be sure he will start in the FA Cup though.

Watkins – could be a great option again with Villa having a double game week.

Plan for game week 26

I’m a little stumped this week in terms of options. I could easily make a case for taking out Martinez, Porro, Gvardiol, Foden or Palmer. I’ll have a closer look at long term fixtures tomorrow before making a decision. The only player that really stands out to me to bring in is Watkins given the double game week but I’m not even convinced he plays in the FA Cup anyway. However, he should get more game time than Foden over the course of the week. I’ll see what comes out of the press conferences tomorrow before making a final decision.
