Another disappointing game week, with another drop on the leaderboard. Looking at the way the week panned out I just think I’m not getting the rub of the green at the moment rather than making choices that aren’t logical. Johnson was my punt this week and that fell completely flat but other than that my team still aligns with the majority in the top 1,000 players as I outlined in my review last week so there’s very little I can do other than going completely against the majority which could risk my overall position even more. I’ve now also got some transfer headaches this week with Rogers and Watkins not playing, Alexander-Arnold being injured and Johnson due a price drop.
Here is my breakdown of each player:
Raya – another quiet game week but I’ll hold. He was outscoring Martinez before I put him in, now Martinez is outscoring Raya, you just couldn’t make it up.
Gvardiol – another slow game week but I’ll hold with a double coming up soon.
Porro – hasn’t scored well since I put him in but I’ll keep for now.
Alexander-Arnold – potentially injured, need to find out more before making a decision.
Johnson – very poor game week, but may need to hold as at least he might get some game time this week when others won’t.
Rogers – happy with 9 points from Rogers but he has no game this week coming.
Fernandes – season long pick.
Palmer – another poor week from Palmer given his potential to score points and value.
Watkins – 12 points was a good return from Watkins but he has no game this week.
Salah – season long pick.
Haaland – season long pick
Player watchlist
Diaz – I considered him last week and he would have been a better choice than Johnson. Could be a decent option.
Szoboszlai – another option to replace Rogers but he doesn’t tend to have explosive game weeks so not massively convinced.
Foden – I could go back to Foden with a double game week coming up after the next game week. He didn’t score well last week though so I’m not convinced it’s the right time.
Garnacho – continues to chip away at points under the radar and Man Utd have a good fixture this weekend. Not always certain to start though.
Son – could be an OK replacement for Watkins, teams left in the Europa League could be the ones to target at this stage of the season as well.
Plan for game week 28
I’m a little stuck on what to do transfer wise for the game week ahead, everything I’m looking at seems a little awkward. Logically Rogers and Watkins won’t play so they should come out but they do have a double game week the week after. Alexander-Arnold looks set to miss the game week as well but he’s another I’m going to want back in. There also aren’t a huge amount of options in terms of players I’d want to bring in, I’m not massively convinced by any of the players on my watchlist but I’m going to have to do something to remove players who definitely won’t feature. As we have time to consider this, I’ll post an update tomorrow morning when I’ve reached a decision.
