Review of Game Week 34

Review of Game Week 34

GW Points: 121
Overall Points: 4221
Overall Rank: 313

A solid game week, brilliant time of the season to be making a jump on the overall leaderboard, with a rise of over 100 places. I’d put this rise down to players performing well with relatively low ownership within the top 1,000 teams, mostly Eze and Garnacho. Porro was another good one though, his ownership is around 60% within the top 1,000 which is quite high but it did help me gain on the 40% who don’t own him, which is almost half. I’ll probably follow the game logic when making transfers this week – target differentials who might do OK.

Here is my breakdown of each player:

Raya – season long pick.

Gvardiol – keep with FA Cup final coming up and Southampton at the weekend.

Porro – keep with European cup final coming up

Cucurella – keep with European cup final coming up

Eze – keep with FA Cup final coming up

Garnacho – good returns this week, keep with a cup final coming up and a good differential.

Fernandes – season long pick.

Saka – I think keep but Arsenal do play Liverpool at the weekend. A punt could be to take him out for someone with less ownership.

Palmer – keep with league position to play for and the cup final.

Marmoush – poor returns but difficult to make a case for taking him out with Southampton on the horizon.

Isak – decent game week but could look to move him on in an aggressive transfer move.

Plan for game week 35

As we’ve got all morning to consider transfers and press conferences today, I’m probably going to sleep on what transfers to make. However, initial thoughts are to stick in someone like Wissa rather than the obvious choice of Mbeumo against Ipswich. I’d probably need to lose Isak to do this. I’m then tempted by De Bruyne even though he’s not a massive differential, given the low ownership of some of my other players though I think he could be a good pick. I’m also looking at Bernado Silva as a real curve ball pick but I’m not sure anyone is a certain starter for City. There is also the return of Haaland to worry about. Given there are only a few game weeks left in the season, I would suggest that anyone following my team potentially avoids copying the moves I’m now making. If you’re looking to win mini leagues and you’re already in a good position it’s not the time to be making risky moves. I’m in the fortunate position where I’m well within the top 1,000 on the leaderboard but not quite as high as I finished last season so I’m going to make some very risky plays to try and push for a higher finish. This could result in a big drop if it backfires so I’m now playing a slightly different game. If you’re already top, I’d be looking to block those below you.
