After a minor climb on the leaderboard last week it was back down to reality this week – I lost around 400 places despite on OK performance from the majority of my players. Doku was a good transfer in and I should have been brave enough to captain him. I was mostly let down by Rogers and Gyokeres. Rogers in particular hasn’t done much since I bought him in. It’s a difficult time in the season to make significant progress as the leaderboard has settled with many teams going for similar players but I’ll keep plugging away.
Here is my breakdown of each player:
Raya – keep until the end of the season.
Saliba – keep until the end of the season.
Gabriel – keep until the end of the season.
Munoz – decent return but only a single game week ahead, I may take him out and put him back in when Palace play in Europe.
Rogers – not an amazing game week again but Villa do have a double game week coming up so I’ll probably hold.
Doku – very good game week and I’ll keep him with City having a double game week next week.
Rice – must win game against Burnley but only a single game week for Rice. He’s not really scored big for me since I’ve had him so I may swap him for someone with more explosive potential.
Cherki – not a great game week with only 7 points from two fixtures but I’ll hold him for now I think.
Watkins – got his goal, will keep for now with Villa’s European final coming up next week.
Gyokeres – has done OK for me previously but had a poor week last week. I’ll probably hold with Burnley coming up at the weekend.
Haaland – hold for the rest of the season.
Plan for game week 36
I’m not unhappy with my team going into game week 36, my Arsenal players have a really important game against Burnley, Rogers and Watkins have a double game week as do Cherki, Doku and Haaland so they are worth holding. I’ve got a question mark against Munoz and Rice as Palace only have a single fixture and Rice might not be explosive enough after a few quiet weeks.I could look at someone like Saka and then I’d need to find a defender in place of Munoz but at the moment no one is jumping out as an obvious option. I’ll confirm either way tomorrow.
