Review of Game Week 13

Review of Game Week 13

Very happy with game week 13 for a number of reasons. Firstly my transfers paid off despite Rogers and Gvardiol scoring OK, Johnson and Timber outscored them by 10 points. Both looking like good medium term options. Secondly, my captain choice was good in Palmer – Salah would have scored me a few more points but there wasn’t a huge amount between them. Finally, I managed to resist going for Cunha or Pedro and either scored massive points – this saves me the headache of having to take them out this week. I’m now very happy with my position on the overall leaderboard – it’s just a shame that I had a poor couple of weeks earlier in the season as I could be much higher.

Here is my breakdown of each player:

Kelleher – happy with 9 points from a cheap goalkeepers. Stays in until he’s back on the bench.

Mazraoui – not happy with 2 points but don’t want to knee jerk and take him out when Man Utd have good fixtures. Might consider it though.

Timber – started badly but a brilliant result against Man Utd with a goal and clean sheet. Definitely stays in.

Dalot – happy with 10 points – stays in for now.

Saka – brilliant 26 points from Saka, pick and stick for me.

Johnson – very happy with 12 points from Johnson, glad I picked him ahead of Pedro or Cunha as I’m in not rush to take him out.

Fernandes – decent 13 points from Fernandes, stays in for now.

Garnacho – not pleased with 3 points from Garnacho, tempted to keep him this week as he should get game time with a European fixture coming up. Question marks longer term though.

Palmer – got the returns I’d hoped for after a quiet week last week. Fairly sure I’ll keep him for the busy run of Premier League games coming up in December.

Haaland – not a massive score from Haaland but he’s still the second highest scoring player on the game and stays in for me.

Salah – another big score from Salah, pick and stick.

Player watchlist

Odegaard – Arsenal have a decent run of fixtures coming up and he’s scored consistently since returning from injury.

Havertz – again for Arsenal’s good run of upcoming fixtures but he’s slightly cheaper.

Robertson – Liverpool have a good set of fixtures on the horizon, Robertson could be an improvement on Mazraoui.

Alexander-Arnold – almost certain to score well but I don’t see a way of getting him in at the moment.

Watkins – with Southampton coming up at the weekend, he could be a good option but I’m concerned with Villa only having a single game week the week after as they are out of the EFL Cup.

Rashford – A cheap enabler who might go on a run of scoring well but never a certainty.

Plan for game week 14

I’m a little stumped on what to do for the week ahead. Looking at my team and the fixtures on the horizon I’m fairly happy with where I’m already at so it’s tempting to roll the transfer. However, at the same time, when in this position it can also be wise to fine tune the team to set it up better longer term. I’ll ponder on it until tomorrow morning. If I was to make any changes it would be Garnacho and Mazraoui that I’d be considering taking out first. Mainly because they will drop in value and Man Utd have tough fixtures in game week 15, I’m not convinced they won’t score well this week though so I’m a little hesitant. Odegaard would probably be top of my list to bring in as Arsenal do have a good run coming up. However, this would price me out of a decent defender. I could go Havertz and Robertson but again, I’m not convinced it’s a big improvement.
