I’ve finally broken well into the top 1,000 on the leaderboard this week which is a good result. I had a slightly slower start to the season than I’d hoped but that was only because I had such high expectations. The two main highlights for the game week were Gordon getting instant returns and Mbeumo getting a huge score from a single game week. I couldn’t really understand anyone taking him out when Brentford were playing Southampton. I didn’t think either were an obvious choice for the game week so I’m a little surprised I didn’t get a bigger jump on the leaderboard but my backline did let me down slightly.
Here is my breakdown of each player:
Forster – needs replacing.
Gvardiol – drafted him in for the goal bonus week and he’s probably not a priority to move out just yet.
Timber – not a great game week but happy to keep for now.
Alexander-Arnold – awful game week, should drop by the full 0.3m. Not sure if I’ll keep him.
Kulusevski – tough fixture this week if he doesn’t play in the FA Cup but he’s probably worth holding onto.
Mbeumo – should rise by the full amount so worth keeping for another week.
Gordon – another one who is due a rise so I’ll keep him for now.
Palmer – can’t see him playing in the FA Cup but I’ll keep hold of him for another week.
Isak – has been brilliant since I bought him in, will hold for now.
Haaland – season long pick.
Salah – season long pick.

Player watchlist
Martinez – could be a good long-term replacement for Forster.
Kinsky – not sure I trust another Spurs keeper with the defensive problems they’ve got, Forster hasn’t done great for me.
Fernandes – Man Utd still haven’t been great but Fernandes always seems to score well. With Europe kicking back in, it could be a good opportunity for points. My problem is, I don’t really want to tough my front 7 players as they’ve all performed well.
Plan for game week 19
I’m very undecided at the moment with the transfer deadline looming later today. I’ll make a final decision this afternoon but at the moment I can’t see who I’d want to take out from my front 7 for Fernandes despite the potential for Fernandes scoring well this week. I’m also not overly keen on spending 3.5m on a keeper in Martinez but Forster does definitely need to come out. Food for thought until later today.
