Review of Game Week 24

Review of Game Week 24

GW Points: 111
Overall Points: 3115
Overall Rank: 443

I’ve been away this week so I’m a little out of touch with the details of results from this weeks football. Unfortunately, I took a bit of a hit on the overall leaderboard but I’m still in a position that I’m very happy with. It was probably a result of sticking with Gakpo who didn’t get passed fit enough to play and the likes of Watkins ended up scoring well. My transfers still did OK though with Alexander-Arnold and Rogers outscoring Robertson and Gordon.

Here is my breakdown of each player:

Martinez – 4 points not great from Martinez but it’s not a position I’m too worried about.

Gvardiol – 9 points is a half decent return from Gvardiol. Not great fixtures this week though.

Van Dijk – hasn’t scored well since I put him in, may look to move on.

Alexander-Arnold – very happy with 17 points this week, will stick with him now.

Kulusevski – not a good return but I may keep him considering Spurs play Ipswich this week.

Foden – 8 points wasn’t great from Foden but I’ll probably keep given his high ownership.

Rogers – not a huge return after his recent point scoring form but I’ll keep him for now.

Fernandes – not massive returns this week but I’ll keep him with good fixtures coming up.

Gakpo – I’ve not fully looked into it but could be still out injured. Will look to take him out.

Haaland – season long pick.

Salah – season long pick.

Player watchlist

Palmer – hasn’t been in great point scoring form but does have a double game week, including a fixture against Southampton. Could be too tempting to ignore.

Porro – continues to score well. Could be a better option over van Dijk or Gvardiol.

Mbeumo – has good double game week fixtures but I’m not sure I want to take a short term punt on him.

Plan for game week 25

I’ve not had a chance to look in any real detail at potential transfers for this week. However, at a quick glance taking Gakpo and van Dijk or Gvardiol out for Palmer and Porro seems to make logical sense considering the upcoming fixtures and ownership within the top 1,000 teams. I’ll review in more detail before the deadline but it’s hard to look past these moves at the moment.

  1. Paul : Having kept Gapko last week when he was a doubt , are you not worried about Haaland ? He is a injury doubt for Sunday

    1. I wasn’t overly worried but he’s not made the squad. He’s still owned by 67% of the top 1000 teams though so a lot of people in the same boat.
