Game week 30 followed the theme of the season really, the team scored OK but didn’t achieve anything significant enough to make a decent climb on the leaderboard. I took a gamble on the likes of Wirtz but this didn’t pay off. I also wasn’t helped by Arsenal having so many injuries with it being unclear on who would actually be available. It turned out that Timber and Saka missed both fixtures which was far from ideal.
Here is my breakdown of each player:
Raya – happy with 10 points, will be keeping for the rest of the season.
Timber – missed the whole week, may need to be taken out if he’s not fit for the next game week.
Saliba – happy with 9 points, will probably keep for the season.
Gabriel – similar position with Gabriel, decent score for the game week and see no reason to take him out.
Szoboszlai – 7 points for my captain wasn’t great but far from a disaster either. I’ll be holding onto him as he’s a consistent point scorer.
Wirtz – 6 points from Wirtz wasn’t really what I had in mind. With Fulham and PSG next week, I’ll potentially keep him for now.
Rice – 3 points from Rice wasn’t good either but with Bournemouth and Sporting next week I’ll hold onto him.
Saka – another one who missed the game week, if he’s fit I’ll be keeping him so will check the press conference tomorrow.
Pedro – glad I kept Pedro as he picked up 9 points in the FA Cup. With a single game week against Man City coming up I may move him on.
Ekitike – poor week from Ekitike but I’m considering holding him for the double game week coming up.
Haaland – glad I kept the faith with Haaland but it was a shame I didn’t captain him.
Plan for game week 31
With 4 transfers in the bag my plan for game week 31 is to monitor the availability of Timer and Saka – if they look like they won’t be available I’ll be looking to replace them with players who also might have a double game week. The other player I’m considering removing is Pedro – I’m tempted by someone like Gyokeres who should get plenty of game time next week. I’ll keep an eye on tomorrow’s press conferences before making a final decision.
