Review of Game Week 13

GW Points: 160
Overall Points: 1,424
Overall Rank: 348

Game week 13 was another really good week for my team. A big score of 160 points pushed the team up to 348th on the leaderboard. Strangely I don’t feel like I’m having a remarkable season so far as plenty of players that I’ve not picked are scoring well, however, my overall position suggests otherwise. I’m delighted to have maintained a top 1,000 position for as long as I have and I’m hoping my good fortune continues throughout the season. I was a little unfortunate during game week 13 as Eze picked up an injury in his first game back in my team. Other than that, most of my players hit double figure scores – the likes of Foden and Alexander-Arnold have been great picks since I’ve had them and they both did well again this week. It was also a good move to hold onto Fernandes. My biggest decision now is when to play my park the bus booster (more on that below).

Here is my breakdown of each player:

Sanchez –  not happy with -1 point but overall he’s done OK for me. Can’t see an obvious replacement at the moment.

Saliba – very happy with 16 points this week and with good fixtures ahead he stays in my team.

Tsimikas – decent decision to bring him back in, nice price rise, and 10 points for the week. Also has good fixtures next week.

Cash – another fairly poor return for Cash with only 4 points this week. May look to move him on with Eze this week.

Alexander-Arnold – very happy with 13 points this week and another one with good fixtures coming up.

Saka – delighted with 17 points, stays in my team.

Eze – only 4 points and now injured. Has to come out.

Foden – a really good week for Foden with 23 points. Stays in my team.

Bruno – glad I stuck with him for a solid 17 points. May keep him for another week and hope for a price rise.

Haaland – stays in for the season unless he gets injured.

Salah – delighted with 15 points from Salah, he stays in my team.

Player watchlist

Gabriel – I’m looking at parking the bus next week and with Arsenal having good fixtures, Gabriel is definitely someone I’m considering.

Martinelli – hitting some good points at the moment and has great fixtures next week.

Zinchenko – had a very good game week and could be a good short term option for parking the bus.

Watkins – after a slow start to the season he’s starting to score well. Could be a good option to save some budget.

Plan for game week 14

I’m really torn on what to do for game week 14. It’s going to come down to a big decision on whether to park the bus or not. I’m not really one for believing in fate but everything appears to be aligning for me to use it this week. Liverpool and Arsenal have great fixtures and I’ve already got 3 defenders from those two teams. I need to take Eze and probably Cash out, this would allow me to bring in Zinchenko and Gabriel, alongside Saliba, Alexander-Arnold, and Tsmikas. Both did well last week so could rise in price as well. Based on fixtures and form, it’s probably never been a better time to use the booster for me. It’s also worth noting that I’m sitting in a great position on the leaderboard. Around the 350th mark without using PTB is a great position to be in, I’m only just over 100 points off the top and most of the top 100 have used their PTB chip. This could be my chance to get really high on the leaderboard and hold this position for as long as possible – hopefully, the highest I’ve ever been. Obviously, all that matters is where you finish come the end of the season but if the chip goes well it could give me a chance of an exceptional finish this season. On the flip side, if it fails this week, that could end my hopes of getting much higher than I already am and I worry that the team might start to drop off outside the top 1,000. At the moment, if I can hold the PTB booster and maintain a good position for as long as possible then I could always use it much later in the season for a final boost up the leaderboard. Thai argument is slightly flawed though as a lot of people may use it this week and that could give me a huge hit on the leaderboard instantly anyway. At the moment, I’m favouring using PTB but I’ll give it some further thought before confirming for certain. As always, I’d be interested in other people’s opinions on this one as it could be pivotal in how my season pans out from here.

  1. Morning – I think this is the week. Couldn’t ask for a better set of fixtures with players lined up already. Even If arsenal and Liverpool get a couple of clean sheets it’s huge points and you’d kick yourself

  2. Good strategy I think get the points on the board while you can, Could possibly be too late at a later date, at least if you have the points now then it’s easier later to work defensively rather than catchup 👍
