I’m really torn on what to do with my transfers this week. I definitely want to take Lascelles out and I wasn’t sure who else to lose from Bowen (injury concern), Fernandes or Alexander-Arnold. I’ve resigned to the fact that it probably makes sense to lose Bowen, in case he doesn’t start but he’s the one I’d rather have kept if it wasn’t for this injury worry. Fernandes does have decent fixtures this week so I think what I’ll do is bring Bowen back in next week for Fernandes depending on how the game week pans out. Man Utd’s fixtures take a turn for the worse after this week anyway. I’ll then hold Alexander-Arnold for another game week as Liverpool have good fixtures and then look to move him on – I don’t really want him longer term at his value but happy to keep him while Liverpool have good fixtures (other than the City game this weekend).
The knock on effect of this is Bowen comes out for Eze this week. This leaves me with 3.8m to replace Lascelles. This prices me out of most of my first choice players such as Ward-Prowse, Paqueta and Gabriel. As a result, I’m going to just put Tsimikas back in – not ideal given that Liverpool play City BUT he should get a price rise and Liverpool have good fixtures after that game. Although I’ve just said I won’t be parking the bus next weekend, if I did want to, having two Liverpool defenders ahead of game week 14 gives me the option. Arsenal and Liverpool are the teams with favourable fixtures next week so I could easily get a back 5 with 4 players from those two sides if I wanted to. So having Tsimikas this week probably isn’t ideal, I’m building flexibility into my moves going forward. My plan at this stage is to hold a position within the top 1,000 for as long as possible without using the main park the bus booster as most around me have already used it. This should give me a big advantage as the season progresses. However, if I have a bad week with two Liverpool defenders this weekend, I may use it next week anyway.
