Transfers used: Odegaard in, Foden in
Kane out, Salah in

Game week 26 was a disastrous week for my main team, generally because of my poor transfer choices. I stand by them as I felt it was a risk worth taking at the time but it’s cost me a significant amount of points over the week. I was cautious before I made the move but went for it anyway, but as predicted Kane to Salah massively backfired. I preferred Salah’s form and double game week – he’s massively outscored Kane over recent weeks and I felt like I’d held onto Kane for long enough. Typically Liverpool have a poor week and Kane scored twice at the weekend. I also took the opportunity to bring in the inform Foden as I felt like he could be more explosive in terms of points compared to Odegaard. Odegaard then scores and Foden did very little. Luckily the rest of the team performed OK so I’ve stabalised on the leaderboard but the lost points could have helped get the team in a better position. I’d much rather it was up at 3,538 like my best team currently is but it’s not really happened for my blog team in the past few weeks. A particular highlight this week was double figure points for Akanji and Ake – I know there were some doubts when I bought these two in but I think they’ve come good in recent weeks and they were unfortunate not to keep a couple more clean sheets during the first week or two that I had them. I think De Gea, Shaw, Fernandes and Rashford has all been solid choices since the World Cup as well and they continue to contribute regular points week in week out.

Player watchlist

I’m now down to two transfers for the rest of the month. Although I don’t plan on changing many players in my team so I think that’s plenty. The only decision I’ve got to make this week is whether to admit I was wrong and bring Kane back in for Salah. Other than that, I don’t have any other players on my watchlist for the week ahead.

Plan for game week 27

As mentioned above, the only real decision I’ve got to make this week is whether to put Kane back in. It slipped off my radar to do it last night but I’ve got plenty of funds anyway. With Liverpool not playing this week, I’m tempted to switch back to Kane for the fixture against Southampton. Liverpool’s next three fixtures aren’t great either which strengthens the argument for having Kane over Salah. I’m likely to go ahead with this transfer but I’ll confirm at the weekend. This would leave me with 1 transfer for the final game week of the month after we return from the break. If you wanted to check out the fixtures, they can be found here:

  1. True, Damned if you do and damned if you don’t, Swings and roundabouts, keep up the good work thanks Paul

    1. Thanks Ingo, it was very much a case of that but hopefully have a better weekend.

  2. Are you having any thoughts with your last transfer available with Foden out for a week or two or keeping him in and changing something else ?

    1. I’ll definitely be taking Foden out, no idea who for yet though. Difficult one.
