December Transfer Three

December Transfer Three

With Mount failing to live up to expectation at the moment – I’ve decided to bring in Moura. With Kane out I’m hoping this will give Moura the chance to push on and get some decent points on the board. I’ll still have three transfers in the bag for January and have no real transfer plans for anyone else so this seems like a fairly risk free move. As a result the move is:

Mount out
Lucas Moura in

  1. Hi DTT,

What is your team now? I’ve followed your team pretty much like for like, But had James instead of Mina and missed zinchenko to otamendi. I transferred TAA and tomori earlier than yourself.

I only have 2.2m to spend so looks like I’m stuck with mount. Frustrating that my team has dropped 0.6m compared to yours.

    1. Mine is:

      Patricio
      TAA
      Robertson
      Soyuncu
      KDB
      Mane
      Sterling
      Moura (swapped in for Mount)
      Jesus
      Aguero (swapped in for Kane)
      Salah

To be honest I wouldn’t be too bothered about being stuck with Mount. He could well outscore Moura who is a bit of a risk.

    2. Thanks DTT.

Yeah we have the same team now apart from mount-moura.

You have propelled me to the top of my mini league at last, keep up the good work.

  2. I have two teams in the top 8000 on the overall leaderboard they;re both around 170 points of the top. I am not bragging , but would be interested to hear if you think its too much to make up or could i actually have a chance this year?? Normally i am useless and have never even been in top 50000 before

    1. That’s exceptionally good going – I think you’re always in with a chance if you’re in that position. When Jesus got the hat trick before Christmas it gave me a massive boost so there’s always a chance. I’d just keep doing what you’re doing.

      1. Thanks, i can’t believe my luck tbh! it is putting a lot of pressure on my sub choices now! yeah jesus came through for me too, i just need pulisic to get hos scoring boots back on and i could go even higher… he hasnt been scoring too heavily recently but i don’t really want to take him out just yet

        1. It’s a difficult one when players go through a bad patch – it’s knowing when to take them out because you can be sure that as soon as you do they will go and score big. I try to only take players out who are injured or being benched.

  3. DTT
MY TEAM AT THE MOMENT IS
    ALISSON
    SOYONCU
    TAA
    DIGNE
    KDB
    STERLING
    ALI
    MANE
    JESUS
    VARDY
    SALAH
IM THINKING OF TAKING DIGNE AND SALAH OUT FOR AGUERO AND A DEF (SIMILAR TO YOURE TEAM) OR TAKE ALISON OUT FOR SCHMEICHEL OR ANOTHER KEEPER, DIGNE FOR ROBERTSON AND STILL MAKE THE SALAH TO AGUERO SO IM FULLY LOADED FOR CITY, LEICESTER FIXTURES IN JAN. ANY THOUGHTS?

    1. i took digne out a few weeks ago, because of lack of clean sheets… (he still seems to rack up the points tho) but with ancelotti in charge i think digne might be worth bringing back in, …Everton will improve quite a bit and will probably get a few more clean sheets with the new manager. (just my opinion of course…

    2. I personally wouldn’t take Salah out. The only change I’d make in that team for the time being is Digne out but even he keeps picking up points so it might be worth just holding fire.

  4. DT, what is your thoughts on the below (thinking of taking a risk and using all three Jan transfers when available):

Current Team and -> Possible Changes
    Patricio
    Perreira
    TAA
    Robertson
    Sterling
    KDB
    Mane
    Ali -> 4-3-3 to VVD
    Son
    Kane -> Rashford
    T.Abraham -> Vardy

I’m thinking Leicester have good fixtures coming up, so makes sense to keep Perreira and Liverpool look to be finding good defensive form, so including VVD now while relativity cheap might be a good move with Ali looking very hit and miss. I’m aware pool have some dodgy fixtures ahead but their back four seem to be hitting similar ground to last season.

I’m looking to bring Vardy in because his points average are great (7) and he’s sure to score with the upcoming fixtures.

I was then in two minds to swap T.Abraham for either Rashford, who has been great this season points-wise or Jesus, but there is rotation risk there.

Another option is to bring Salah in for Kane but then the VVD move isn’t possible due to funds. This would also mean I’d have less choice replacing T.Abraham. IMO Rashford and Vardy would be stronger than Salah and Ali.

Currently 85 points behind top in my mini-league. Their current team:

    Gazzinga
    Perreira
    TAA
    Robertson
    Sterling
    KDB
    Mane
    Traore
    Kane
    T.Abraham
    Vardy

    Any advice greatly appreciated!

    1. Noticed in your other post you’ve brought in Aguero. I could possibly do this for Kane and keep Ali and forget about VVD for now but I don’t have Jesus, so there is risk Aguero won’t play.

I have £1.1m in the bank with my current team:
      Patricio
      Perreira
      TAA
      Robertson
      Sterling
      KDB
      Mane
      Ali
      Son
      Kane
      T.Abraham

Really stuck on what to do. On one hand I don’t want to waste all 3 changes but on the other I need to catch the person that’s 1st.

      Cheers!

      1. is that 3 spurs players in your team? i would maybe change one of those perhaps is kane injured for long? i havent looked at prices but is arsenal keeper close to same price as patricio, as arsenal are likely to improve under arteta

        1. Kane has a hamstring injury and likely will be out for at least a month. That is why I’m going to keep Son in as he only has one more match ban before he returns.

Not sure whether to replace Kane with Aguero (although rotation risk as I don’t have Jesus) or to swap him for Rashford and then Tammy Abraham for Vardy or even Jesus.

I may stick with Ali as he might have a more dominant position with Kane out. If I go with Aguero then it’s only 1 move required, although I did like my plan to bring VVD in and playing 4-3-3.

          Hmm..

          1. aguero racks up the points rotation or not, but yeah perhaps Alli may become an important player but spurs form looks ropey to me and Son seems quite expensive at 5.5 million. Liverpool seem to be getting clean sheets now (they wern’t earlier in season) so VVD could be good but again he is expensive!! If I had to choose between son and VVD I would pick the liverpool man… but that’s just my opinion, man!! 🙂

      2. Would you have enough funds for both Jesus and Aguero? If not, you could wait and see which one of them starts against Port Vale and then bring in whichever one does.

    2. Personally I’d probably swap Kane for Aguero and Abraham for Jesus if the funds allow? I wouldn’t be worried about having VVD as he’s quite expensive.

  5. Dtt I have your team apart from still have Abraham and I have Allison in goal ….I can swap kane for aguero…but don’t then have funds to upgrade mount I could downgrade Allison to schmichel….then use a a Jan transfer to go mount – either traore or Madison …any help much appreciated I’m now 2nd in my mini league and 8th in money league …..I wish I did your jesus advice at that time

    1. Only just picked up your comment, what did you end up doing? The changes you suggested looked good to me.

      1. I downgraded Allison to Leno…..more money in bank ……do you think I should hold onto mount and Abraham or move them on if so who do you advise?

        1. Did you end up swapping Kane for Aguero? If so and Jesus starts tomorrow I’d be tempted to put him in for Abraham. I wouldn’t worry too much about Mount – he’s got decent points ont he board for his value.

  6. Dtt

Would you say it’s a good move to bring jesus in now and be bold this month as I have aguero too like you?
Or would you put rashford in instead of jesus as I can afford him too? You’re advice will be greatly appreciated

    1. Really difficult one – either one of them could score well this month. I think Rashford is a better long term choice but you can’t argue with the points Jesus has added recently. Could go either way.

      1. I’m top of the mini league I’m in and the lad in 2nd has rashford so I’m thinking maybe cover him?
