After a very successful game week and overall start to the season, it’s very tempting to not make any transfers this week. However, the proactive approach to transfers so far this season seems to have worked so I’m going to utilise both transfers to hopefully improve my team slightly.
Maddison has been brilliant so far this season but he’s got single game weeks for the next two weeks and has difficult fixtures. Probability suggests we should play the fixtures and ship him out – however, it’s never that straightforward with football. There’s a chance he might still score well but I’m going to roll the dice and take him out anyway. I’m also moving on Estupinan, he made a great start to the season but over the last four fixtures he’s scored – 3, 2, 0, 0. Due to this form and that he’s likely to go down in price I’m taking him out today. However, in the same way, Maddison could end up having a good game week 6, Estupinan plays Bournemouth so he could potentially bring in the points in that game as well. I don’t want 4 defenders so I’m bringing in Eze and Rodri for the reasons outlined in my game week review – basically consistency of points so far and good fixtures. It’s a risk but based on what we know right now, I’d prefer to have Rodri and Eze for game week 6 and they should both increase in value today as well.
Maddison out, Rodri in
Estupinan out, Eze in
Captain choice: Haaland – there’s been talking of maybe selecting another captain. This isn’t a risk I’m willing to take given my good start to the season. There could be a case for playing the max captain booster but I’m going to hold this until a European game week.
Boosters: I’m still not playing one this week. However, next week is looking pretty good for using one. I haven’t decided which one I’ll use but I think the best time to use them is during double European game weeks so I’ll be using one for certain before long.
