November Transfer 1

November Transfer 1

As Mahrez isn’t starting once again today, I’ve decided to take him out. With 3 transfers remaining, I don’t think this is too much of a risk even though Man City are playing Liverpool and we do have an international break on the horizon. As I’ve got plenty of money in the bank, I’ve decided to go for De Bruyne as he appears to be a much more regular starter and we all know how much quality he has. So the transfer is:

Mahrez out
De Bruyne in

As I can easily imagine Liverpool scoring, I’ll be leaving Otamendi in for now but he will be the next player to go after the international break.

  1. Yep, Mahrez had to go. Worst transfer in of the season so far. Promised so much at the time. No point crying over spilt milk though I guess, we move on.

47Pts this GW. OR 71k. Pretty pleased that my transfers paid off straight off the bat (Mahrez to Mane & Aguero to Son). Frustrating to see Pool concede again but I reckon a run of CS’s could be just around the corner. Tempted to go for VVD & Alisson for next 2 transfers…🤔

  2. Made a similar mistake swapping Otamendi for Mendy thinking he was ready for a good run in the side following Zinchencko’s injury, only for Angelino to take the spot. Very disappointing as i was also considering Periera & Maguire who have 2 & 1 clean sheets since. The only plus point is that his price actually rose last week.

Other than that, I have had a good few weeks recovering following a shocking start to the season with too many gambles in my initial team selection. Most of my other transfers have seen instant returns and helped go from the bottom of my mini league, 70+ points behind the leader to now within 35 points.

I will potentially look to replace Mendy with the 1st of the Dec transfers, but I will be keeping a close eye on him during this period, City have 4 games left after this international and I think they will be chomping at the bit to go on a run similar to last season. I hope Mendy can be a part of that because there is no doubt Sterling’s returns grow when he plays.

    Current team,

    Patricio
    Robertson
    Mendy
    TAA
    Sterling
    Mount
    Pulisic
    Mane
    Aguero
    Abraham
    Salah

    1. Glad to hear you’re heading in the right direction again C&B. Yeah, it has been very difficult this season to get the transfers right with regards to City assets. Aguero, Otamendi, Mahrez and Mendy have all faced spells on there bench making it extremely difficult to predict. I’m just going to have Sterling for now out of the City assets.

Just keep an eye on Pulisic’s fitness status mate. Pulled out of USA squad with a hip injury.

  3. So my current thinking, if my players all return from the IB, is bringing in Allison with my last transfer of the month.

    Patricio – Allison
    Robbo
    TAA
    Tomori
    Sterling
    Pepe
    Mount
    Mane
    Salah
    Son
    Aubameyang

Allison should drop in value so I’m in no rush with the transfer, although I suspect Patricio may drop too, although he did rise last week, so I may get lucky? 🤷‍♂️

For December’s first transfer I’d then be probably looking at Pepe out for VVD, although this could always change to Mount being the fall guy if Pepe does start to light up.

This would then give me the main four Liverpool defensive assets, which I’m hoping will act as a differential for me. I’ll admit there is risk to this manoeuvre but if it pays off it could reap big rewards. 🤞

  4. Yeah I’m pretty sure Liverpool can start keeping some clean sheets soon. They have a better run coming up and now their defenders are offering good value.

I’m hoping the Pulisic injury will be short term, and fit to play against Man City. That could be a good attacking game.

Its certainly frustrating owning City players but I’m expecting some determined performances now from them, which I hope can benefit Mendy & Aguero.

  5. So looking forward to the end of another IB, hopefully it’s been kind to your teams and you haven’t picked up any injuries.

Yellow flags over Robbo and Mo from what I understand but neither sound long-term (if they do miss out this weekend) so I won’t be making any moves with those two.

    £2.6m ITB. 1 transfer left.

Think I’m going to go ahead with the Liverpool block idea as I still reckon they could go on a decent run of CS’s:

    Patricio———->Alison
    Robbo
    TAA
    Tomori
    Pepe
    Mount
    Sterling
    Mane
    Salah
    Aubameyang
    Son

I’m also backing Arsenal to pick up now so I’m going to hold Auba and Pepe with nice short-term fixtures. If Son can match or get close to Kane’s returns then I’m happy. I’m also backing an upturn for Mount on the back of his first England goal.

Fairly happy with this team for the short/medium term.

    1. I’m thinking about bringing in TAA for Otamendi. He should be a proven point scorer. I think I’d also have enough in the bank to swap Patricio for any other keeper but I’m tempted to hold this move for now. Not tempted by Abraham at his price?

      1. A bit more further down the line possibly, but Arsenal’s fixtures turn pretty sweet now so I’m giving Auba (and potentially Pepe) a stay of execution for now.

Otamendi doesn’t really look a good option anymore with Pep’s trust in him looking completely diminished. Good move imo for TAA. 👍🏻

  6. Salah, Robbo and Pulisic all big doubts for the weekend. Hopefully the pressers can give us more of a timeline. I own two out of the three. 😬

Anyone unlucky enough to own all three?

        1. I got one transfer left but will use that to take out Mahrez after this game week. But if I had two or three transfers might have been interested in taking out Salah as his injury has been somewhat long term as sustained in the Leicester game.

  7. DTT….did you transfer TTA in for otimendi yesterday ? didnt see a post for it
if you did…….patrico out next ?
out of ederson or allison would you go allison and have a liverpool treble defence or indeed cover your costs with a city back liner in ederson ?
    love your thoughts

    1. I did put TAA in. Patricio could well be next to go. I’d probably favour Ederson to balance the risk.
