October Transfer 2

October Transfer 2

Maitland-Niles hasn’t seen much game time recently and was taken off at half time in the Europa League. As a result I think he’s ran his course in the team. I’m taking him out for Tomori today after Chelsea appear to be doing a little better defensively. So the transfer is:

Maitland-Niles out
Tomori in

I’ll obviously reverse this if Tomori isn’t starting for Chelsea.

  1. Ah well. 83 mins +8 points. 90 mins -1. That’s football.Unlucky yesterday but I’m sure it will pay off long term

  2. Aubamayang, last 4 games 0pts, will he play mid-week, unlikely, you might aswell have Aguerro, with limited gametime.

    1. Agree. Might as well have Aguero even though with limited game time, he has scored 31 more points in the same time period as Aubamenyang’s 0 points. He is such an explosive player that when City are in the mood to score goals he is always capable of getting a big score. Got to Aguero quickly though as his price is increasing and will be near the 8m mark soon.

  3. Transfers I’m thinking of doing with the last of this month and the first if the next month.
    Otamendi to Azpilicueta
    Mahrez to De Bruyne

  4. Still hoping Liverpools defence will soon return to keeping clean sheets, do people think its worth paying an extra 0.7 million, for TAA above Matip. Matip currently has a better average pts per games played.

    1. I would say so in the long-run, if you plan to stick with TAA. Matip has been excellent when he’s played though so it is a tough decision. Doubts over Matip being fit for the next game as well. Maybe Gomez or Lovren come in and stake a claim?

  5. From the sublime to the ridiculous. A measly 25 points from the weekend. Slid back down my ML’s once again.

The Mahrez move hasn’t worked out well at all thus far. Has Bilva gotten away with facing any suspension then? One of the main reasons I went for Mahrez. 🤞that he gets some Carabao minutes.

    1. It’s all gone very quiet Chris! The last I heard he was given more time to respond to the charge, to Mon 21st Oct… and since then, nothing!

  6. Haven’t been able to contribute as much as I’d hoped of late but if anyone’s interested in my (average) progress, I’m currently on 593 points but with £1.2m ITB awaiting Nov’s transfers:

    Patricio
    Robertson
    Tomori
    Otamendi
    Sterling
    De Bruyne
    Mahrez
    Mount
    Salah
    Kane
    Aubameyang

Possible thoughts are Otamendi > TAA and AUB > Abraham or Firmino. I’d also ideally like to do Mahrez > Mane but that would commit me to Abraham and blowing all 3 transfers straight away which I don’t think is a good idea with the number of Nov games for the ‘big 6’. Thoughts welcome…

    1. Yep, I think Otamendi has to go. Some tough PL games for City against good, attacking sides coming up and he probably won’t play anyway now.

I get the Auba move as well. Arsenal have been poor of late and he’s now probably going to operate on the left more now that Lacazette is back.

Just hoping that Bilva gets served with a ban soon so that our Mahrez move can bear fruit.

    2. Not a team too different from me. I have the same predicament regarding AUB. Three games now and scored a big fat 0. Possible options to replace him imo are: Vardy (given the nice fixtures), Lacazette (knowing he will play CF) or even Martial (seems on form this season and was unfortunate to get injured). I don’t like the look of Tammy because he tends to get a good game out of every 3 and he will be hard to shift given his price.

I’m also looking at replacing Patricio with Gazzaniga (although it’s a bit of a side move). Spurs are likely to do better in the long run and with Lloris injured and Gaz putting in a great performance against Pool, Lloris would have to win back his place. Could be a bargain for a team that often finishes top 4 most seasons.

      My current team is:
      Patricio
      Robertson
      Tomori
      TAA
      Sterling
      Mane
      Mahrez
      Mount
      Salah
      Kane
      Aubameyang

Not really concerned with Mahrez just yet. Yes, he has been benched the last few times but can see him doing well in the cup games (avg. rating in CL is 7.85).

      1. I’m thinking similar batman. Ageee re Aub and also not sure of Aubs game time now lacas back. Only thing is Aub is capable of good runs. Shall we stick with him, arsenal have good fixtures for a while..?..

However Vardy is nailed, cheaper by 2M, in a team in form, and currently 7th highest pts scorer. Whereas Arsenal are not passing the eye test, amid unrest. (I’m talking myself into it.)

May also get Peirera who is 2nd highest defender and, nowadays, proven in the league. Whoscored seem to like him too.

Plus both of them are differentials.

        1. It’s a tricky one. I’m edging towards having Aguero because even with less game time he scores well when he does play. Jesus isn’t on the same level and Pepe G needs to realise Agureo is the main man there. AUGB is too expensive and Lacazette is going to be playing CF, so pushes him out wide, meaning less chance of scoring.

Only way I can do this is by making a couple of sacrifices and using all three subs (something I don’t want to really do until mid/end November):

I have 0.1m in the bank:
          Patricio TO Gazzinga
          Mahrez TO Tielemans
          AUBG TO Aguero

I like Mahrez but Pep G has also benched him twice recently meaning his cost at 4.5m is quite expensive for a player that a) doesn’t always play and b) has less chance of scorer compared to a prime striker.

          The team I’m thinking is:
          Gazz
          Robertson
          Tomori
          TAA
          Sterling
          Mane
          Tielemans
          Mount
          Salah
          Kane
          Aguero

          1. I’m in a similar position. Are you not tempted by Abraham for Aubameyang? Appreciate that Aguero is scoring well but based on his value Abraham looks better value. This means the possibility of strengthening elsewhere.

          2. Sounds like a plan batman then ya can get some leics coverage.

Personally i wish idve kept aguero instead of changing him back and forth for auba.

I read a great article by an FPL champion who said one of your best differentials is consistency!

  7. Can we not go Ottamendi to Mendy, Zinchenko out for the foreseeable, Angelino hardly getting any minutes, I have Ederson, still trying to double up on City defence, it is a minefield though.

  8. Morning all. After a lousy weekend it was good to claw back 18 points with an Aguero brace yesterday. Still need to inject a bit of magic in my team though!

Currently on 662 points and second in my ML. 60 points clear of third place but also 50 points behind top. Still early days but the ML leader has a solid team at the moment. My team below with early thoughts on transfers (I have one left this month).

    Patricio
    Robertson
    Otamendi
    Tomori
    Sterling
    Mane
    Mount
    Pepe
    Salah
    Auba
    Aguero

    Players to Transfer Out:
    – Aubameyang – Picked him when Lacazette was injured and worked quite well initially but has blanked a few times recently. He doesn’t seem favourable for European games, and Arsenal likely to be knocked out of EFL cup tonight. If he’s not playing in Europe I’d sooner have somebody like Vardy who is cheaper, and also prolific.

    – Patricio – Wolves definitely aren’t as tight at the back as they were last year. If I can free money up elsewhere then an upgrade to Ederson is logical

    – Pepe – Happy to stick for the time being due to Arsenal fixtures, but barring his brace the other day he has been disappointing. Definitely didn’t deserve star man against Sheff Utd either!

    – Aguero – He’s a tricky one! Always scores when he plays, but doesn’t play all the time.

    – Otamendi – Like to keep him in for now but possibility to transfer to either TAA or Mendy

    Players to Transfer In:
    – Vardy – he is in great form, as are Leicester. Only worry is that they don’t have European games. Could be a good shout as ML leader doesn’t have him, but may delay until mid-December when there’s no European games again until Feb

    – Mendy – he’s remaining fit and seems to be contributing consistently. Unfortunately the ML leader also has him so I wouldn’t be gaining any ground

    – Kane – Always a worry not having him, and he’s found his boots this week. Would tie up funds if I brought him in and also wouldn’t gain on ML Leader as he has him too.

    – KDB – Not heavily owned in my ML so could provide me points that others won’t gain. Would be able to upgrade Pepe, if I made savings elsewhere.

In terms of my final October transfer, it has to be Aubameyang out, but who for? I have £1.5m in the bank so could be for Kane, but that won’t make up the difference between me and ML leader. Vardy plays two games less so wouldn’t go down that route yet.

  9. Interested DTT, how you plan to use your last remaining October transfer by tomorrow evening, to get Aguerro in, it would have to be either Mahrez or Ottamendi out by tomorrow evening, leaving Aubamayang out on Friday/Saturday.

  10. Hi everyone

In a pickle in my ML 70 points adrift and really struggling. Need to do some surgery to my team, 800k in bank.

    Roberto
    Robertson
    Tierney
    Otamendi

    Mane
    Sterling
    Mount
    Mahrez

    Kane
    Salah
    Aubameyang

    Players I need to move on are ;

    Roberto
    Tierney
    Aubameyang
    And poss mount and otamendi.

    Options I am thinking are

Otamendi for tomori which allows aubameyang for aguero and then £1 million left to upgrade roberto if I can or hold 3rd transfer

Or aubameyang for abraham, otamendi for tomori and roberto for ederson

Can anyone see any options or what needs are most pressing as I’m struggling thanks.

    1. I’m in a similar position – I’ve got one transfer left this month. Thinking about going down the Aubameyang to Abraham route. I’ll then have loads of funds for making transfers in November. Which could well include bringing in Ederson.

      1. Hi DTT. Would we consider auba back (again!) to aguero and we just keep him for the season? Hes pretty much top pts scorer, and double the pts of auba. And at the same time we downgrade ota to alonso to fund it.

I know Chelsea double up isnt ideal but alonso is the best we can get for that money.

Pep defensively is so unpredictable and noone is nailed. Whereas alonso seems pretty nailed.

If we get abraham and he loses form and the money is tied up elsewhere it could be complex to change him.

        1. Yeah it’s a risk having Abraham but Chelsea seem to be attacking more than they are defending. I know City are the same but Abraham is a fraction of the price, it’s a risk but gives us funds to strengthen elsewhere. Can always swap back in December or take Kane out.
