Potential December Transfer

Potential December Transfer

Having thought about my December transfers in a little more detail, I may potentially make a transfer today. I’ve decided to take Tomori out but only if he doesn’t start against Everton this afternoon. If he starts then I’ll stick with what I’ve got. However, if he’s benched I’ll be bringing in Soyuncu from Leicester.

With regards to my other transfers for the month, I’ll almost certainly be taking Jesus out for Abraham when I really have no choice but to revert back to Abraham. I’ll try and hold on at least until after City have played Oxford.

I’ll also be monitoring Mount but can’t see me taking him out this week even if he doesn’t start against Everton as he may then play in the Champions League.

    1. Don’t have the funds for Soy so might just switch to Reece James. Seems to be playing his well into that team now and a fairly regular starter at right-back.

      1. Actually, I’m going to hold the transfer for now. Feel my last two might be better used as a double transfer.

        1. I like Reece James but surely Chelsea need to buy some new defenders in January. You can’t have Azpilicueta at left back. Don’t know how Zouma was rated watching the game as he had a nightmare.

  1. Lots of chelsea fans online seem to think frank is resting tomori and jorginho for the champions league game midweek vs lille at home.

Who has a better chance of a clean sheet this week

    Tomori vs lille (H)
    Soyuncu vs Villa (A)

    1. Afternoon All

I’m looking for some advice please

I have 3 transfers left and 2.7m itb

      My team

      Schmeichel

      TAA
      Robertson
      Tomori

      Mane
      Sterling
      James
      Pulisic

      Salah
      Vardy
      Kane

Tomori has to go. I’m just not sure who to put in for him. I was thinking Lovern but LFC are one game short this month.

I’m also thinking of upgrading James after his poor form recently!

      Last thing.

Is it time for Salah to be moved on?
It will free up more cash and will I get the same return from Rash/Abraham/Som

      Thanks for any input

      1. I can’t see me moving Salah on to be honest – it’s tempting considering Liverpool have a lack of fixtures coming up.

  2. as per usual banged in with 3 transfers took out Patricio put in CP Guarta 8 points
took out stones MC put in Kelly CP 8 points took out James MU put in dele TOT 7points.
56 points today 991 so far.

  3. What do you think of vardy for Jesus instead of Abraham dtt? Most of the overall leaders have him?

    1. I think DTT needs to stick to his plan. Bringing in Vardy will make things complicated as the straight swap of Jesus to Vardy (waiting after the Oxford game is a good idea) will leave very little flexibility to upgrade Mount to anyone decent (>3m) plus Mount’s and Jesus value is on a downward slope. Abraham seems the logical choice as not is he a good asset at a big club but his low value offers the strength in flexibility to achieve a well balanced team. The main reason why I got Abraham early in my team. Plus looking forward towards next weekend when Chelsea meet Bournemouth who have got much of a team left with their best defenders in Cook and Ake out injured, it could be a goal fest for Abraham.

      1. I’d agree with RR – I can’t see the value in bringing in Vardy now. I’ll certainly be going back for Abraham unless he gets injured. Got lucky with the Jesus hat trick last night but I’d rather have Abraham as a long term option given his price compared to Vardy.

  4. Was completely unprepared this weekend and missed my transfer. Like you, I planned on switching Tomori to Soyunco. One for me to bear in mind for my next transfer.

I’ve somehow made ground up on first place in my leader board who was 60 points clear, now 18. Still feel there’s improvements to be had in my squad. Currently on 930 points, all three transfers available.

    Patricio**
    Robertson
    TAA
    Tomori**
    Sterling
    Mane
    Mount*
    De Bruyne
    Salah*
    Abraham*
    Vardy

    £4.1m ITB
    Potential transfers:

Patricio may have to go for me. I expected more throughout the season but have reluctantly stuck with. Wolves have Spurs, City and Liverpool in December so any confidence of a clean sheet is diminishing. Potential replacements include Schmeichel or maybe even Guaita for Spurs given his price tag. Reluctant to spend more on a keeper given lack of clean sheets this season.

Tomori potentially one for the bin this month too. Chelsea struggling with clean sheets and also seems he isn’t a guaranteed starter. I’m tempted to hop on the Soyunco band wagon, especially given that’s the trf I’d pencilled in before I lost track of time this weekend.

Mount is on the radar and one for me to monitor, but I’m struggling with a replacement. Pulisic seems a bit sideways. Alli is my other option, especially if I don’t transfer Kane in, given his recent form.

Salah was on his way out till he pulled in 10 points. His replacement would’ve been a straight like for like with Kane. Given I prefer Liverpool’s Christmas fixutres (although he won’t play in the cup), I may stick with Salah.

Abraham – If I do stick with Salah, i’m tempted to transfer Abraham for Son (won’t be able to afford Kane). Feel like Spurs are about to hit some form, so my gut is telling me to acquire some form of Spurs representation, whether it be Alli, Kane or Son.

    1. I’d certainly be looking at taking Tomori out and Mount is also on my radar for coming out as well. Although based on his value he’s not doing too badly. Be interested to know what you’re going to do with Patricio – I’m in a similar position but I don’t know if it’s worth just sticking with him for the duration because of the lack of clean sheets around anyway.

  5. Took some risk this December and used all three transfers on Friday. I was falling behind from the person at the top of my mini league by around 15-20 additional points each game week. The gap now stands at 52 points difference. I’m currently sitting 2nd.

    Transfers used:
    Pulisic out – Ali in
    Tomori out – Rodriguez in
    Salah out – Son in

    Overall team now stands:
Patricio – next one to move on
    TAA
    Robertson
    Rodriguez
    Sterling
    KDB
    Mane
    Ali
    Son
    Kane
    Tammy
    £1.1 ITB.

I didn’t want to shift Salah but he just isn’t getting the points for the price. I get that he can be explosive but we are now 16 games in this season and there are alternatives scoring better for cheaper. He also has Mane and Firminho to compete with. I decided to bring Son in because he appeared to be having a good season before Mourinho took over and now he seems to be improving further under his management. He always appears to be giving 100% and is usually involved in goals that he doesn’t score. Kane also remains in my team because I can see him picking up form under the new manager and with Ali adding to the creativity that Spurs’ were lacking.

Ali in for Pulisic simply because I can see Spurs’ picking up form and having a good remaining season. Ali is cheap and offers some difference to other teams currently in my mini-league. This paid off with two assists on Saturday and I can see him playing often under Mourinho.

Rodriguez was expensive but he has been the standout player in the Leicester back four. He get’s involved in goals, grabs assists and has points to prove his performance so far. Leicester are tidy at the back and have the fewest GA in the league. They are the only threat to Pool as it stands.

Vardy is the one player that is causing the difference between me and the guy at the top. I have been hoping he slows down and declines in form but how much longer do we need to wait? Vardy is a proven goal scorer, takes penalties and plays for a team in very good form. We may have to look at getting him in because the “wait” for him to lose form may never come. The only positive is that Leicester has fewer games than most.

It’s a hard Dreamteam season this year but I’m a believer of taking high risk high reward gambles.

  6. After the 14th of this month Liverpool don’t have a competitive fixture until the 26th, I would think Liverpools involvement in the World club championship will yield no dreamteam pts, that’s Liverpool assets for 12days not scoring pts, while other teams in that period will play 2 more games including Leicester, I to will be taking Salah out before upcoming games this weekend for Vardy, league Cup quarter finals next week.

    1. Liverpool will definitely be playing a b team/kids v villa, yes people with lots of Liverpool players will definitely struggle in that period other teams playing 2/3 games in that time period!

    1. Similar lines of thinking to myself John. It’s always unnerving going Salahless but there are great cheaper options that can get close to his returns (Tammy, Vardy).

I considered looking at Lovren too but Matip is due back at the end of the month so that would
Gomez, Lovren and Matip competing for that one spot.

      1. Thanks Chris
I’m thinking of a Leicester defender now as they have 6 games compared to LFC’s 4 (weak lc side)
And maybe a Man City midfielder as they have 6 as well.
I just can’t make up my mind whether to swap Salah for One of those strikers.
        Never Easy :-/

  8. Double Pool clean sheets! I’m in dreamland! 😂

David has been getting me thinking and I’m now tempted to make the following transfers with my final two this week:

    Salah – Vardy
    Tomori – Pereira

Both Starmen magnets this season, both should play EFL and no European games till Feb now. Always scary losing Salah but I’m warming to this move. Just have cash to do it this week.

    1. It’s a gamble taking Salah out but he is clearly not on the same form as we’ve seen him in the past. He had the opportunity to put away another 2 easy goals on top of the one he scored this evening. Great player and when in form he is needed but currently i think there’s better value elsewhere.

Famous last words but we’ll see. I’ve taken him out for Son and used the extra cash to swap Tomori for Pereira.

    2. I would be more worried about Mount (one of the weakest links) than Salah. I don’t think Salah is off form, watching highlights of the champions league game, yes he missed chances but I am more worried when my striker doesn’t get chances. So 8 shots at goal, I like Salah because he is selfish for goals (great for fantasy football purposes) and would want to win the golden boot for a third time running – he has got a lot of catching up to do but Liverpool have the run of fixtures to allow him to do so. One of the reasons he can be explosive. Plus is it a good time to take him out as Liverpool play Watford at home and majority of Salah’s goal have been at Anfield plus he likes playing Watford as scored 4 goals in a goal a few seasons ago. Furthermore are Vardy and Pereira going to play in the EPL cup? the premier league should the priority now for Leicester so could the likes of Justin and iheahacho (or my shortlist for Ings in my highest placed team) or Perez up front as 32yr old Vardy may need a rest.

      1. I would be absolutely flabbergasted if Vardy or Pereira sit out of a QF EFL Cup game. A brilliant opportunity for Silverware for Leicester and I fully expect them to throw the kitchen sink at it.

In Salah, in isolation I’d tend to agree with the points you raise RR. However, as this move involves two transfers and not just Salah to Vardy, I think this puts a different spin on it. You just have to look at the points this season to see which has been the better combo so far:

        Vardy & Pereira – 233

        Salah & Tomori – 154

I don’t see any reason why Leicester can’t continue this form and as soon as the tricky City and Liverpool games have been negotiated, they have a lovely run of fixtures.

        1. Some good points Chris.

I think there is where my flaw in fantasy football lies. My style of play involves isolation where decisions are solely based at comparing players. Usually my fundamental question is the player I am bringing in better (more points potential) than I am taking out? So I given my reasons before on my moves ie. Mount out, Pulisic in etc. So when I make a transfer, I usually draw a shortlist of three players and compare a wide range of variables (observations, form, fixtures) with a few stats thrown in.

Yes, it’s a not full proof plan maybe yours is better judging by your recent record but it sort of works for me (in TTF game recently but my record in dream team has not been great since my peak performance when the game involved big price changes where I actually enjoyed playing the game). Nowadays I try are ignite my passion by writing about sun dream team.

          1. I try not to plan too much to be honest RR and this season has been anything but successful my friend! My timing for incomings and outgoings has been pretty poor this season but as a great person once said, “I never fail………..I either succeed or I learn”. – Love that quote.

Jesus, I’m turning DT into some kind of philosophy lesson……😂

Still really enjoying the game and trying to find ways of catching up those above me. Luckily I wasn’t used to this last season so it’s a new challenge…

  9. We will have to wait for lineups on Saturday, but don’t rule out Salah being benched & Origi starting, klopp will want his best 11 on the pitch, to have a good tilt at the World club trophy, he put out so called weaker teams against Everton, Salah benched that game, & Bournemouth, which they both won comfortably.

    1. That’s fine if Salah is missing from this weekend’s game. I would reluctantly take him out (happy with Kane, Salah and Abraham in my team) but then Klopp runs the risk of upsetting Salah who looks in good form right now. Strange if he is rested after Klopp praised his goal last night and Liverpool had a Tuesday night game so tiredness shouldn’t be an excuse. Klopp can rotate his team for the first club final match as they are expected to be in the final vs flamengo.

Taking out Salah could come at great risk given his high ownership and also if others in mini leagues decide to keep him especially with Liverpool’s good run of fixtures. Some Sun dream team managers won’t be aware of Liverpool’s postponed game, others won’t care as its only one game and short term gains could lead to long term losses (unnecessary use of valuable transfers) and others might take out Salah and then put him back later this month (3 transfer rich and 11 fit players playing – I wish I was so lucky). You got to weigh up the pros and cons or go gut feeling.

    1. Cheers David – was a bit of a punt and thought it had been a disaster with Abraham scoring on Tuesday. Very pleased with the hat trick last night as it’s given a massive boost on the leader board.

  10. Yeah, well played DTT and all who brought him in. Lovely result for you tonight that and apparently Aguero not ready for a return yet with Pep saying he doesn’t know how long it’ll be. Could be more hauls on the way. Well done disciples! 👌🏼👊

    1. Cheers Chris – just the slice of fortune I needed this season. Hoping it continues to get the season back on track.

  11. Do you guys think its woth it to change abraham for Jesus now??

I have one transfer left and my team is:
    TAA
    Pereira
    Soyuncu

    Ali
    Mane
    Mount
    Sterling

    Kane
    Salah
    Abraham

    With spare 2.4m

    Total points 939
    2nd in mini league

Problem is that 1st is 60 points ahead.
    Need to catch back :/

    Any sugestions?? 🙁

    1. Sorry lil correction.
I swaped bernardo silva for ali recently. Still able to cancel.

Therefore my midfield is: bernardo, mount, mane, sterling,
Atak = abraham, salah & kane

I am thinking outside of box.
Man city will play oxford = potentional goal fest.

How about keeping bernardo in and swaping salah for jesus?

How likely them 2 will play??

      1. Alli looks like a good long term option – it’s going to be a lottery if they play against Oxford. I’m not even sure Jesus will start now.

    2. I personally wouldn’t – I’ll probably be taking him out before long. Did you make the move? I’d probably want De Bruyne if it was me.
