Review of Game Week 30

Review of Game Week 30

GW Points: 41
Overall Points: 1,724
Overall Rank: 826
Transfers: Coleman Out, Rojo In

Overall game week 30 was an average week for the team. I was delighted with the result at Old Trafford as I picked up clean sheets for Rojo, Bailly and Foster. I was less pleased with the result at Stamford Bridge. For the third successive game Costa picked up -1 point and Azpilicueta also missed out on a clean sheet. Having said that 41 points for the week was not a bad result and it ensured the team remained in the top 1,000 teams in the overall rankings.

Positives:

Clean sheets for Rojo, Bailly and Foster. This was particularly satisfying as I could not decide between Rojo or Alderweireld to replace Coleman. Doubling up on Man Utd defenders paid off with 15 points scored between them. Alderweireld also racked up 8 points, however Man Utd do have the additional Europa League games later in the month.

Aguero picked up star man against Arsenal. Grabbing a goal and a star man award saved my game week. Transferring Aguero in for Jesus was a no brainer and it has paid off ever since. I will be sticking with Aguero until the end of the season unless he picks up an injury or suspension.

Potential Issues:

Costa once again picked up -1 point. He hasn’t performed since I transferred him in to replace the injured Harry Kane. I can’t justify keeping a striker in the team who has scored -3 points across 3 games. If his form doesn’t change quickly I will be looking to replace him as soon as possible.

Pogba injury. Pogba failed to recover from injury in time to feature at the weekend. He’s still the highest scoring midfielder and with Man Utd’s heavy fixture list in April I would rather not transfer him out. Hopefully he will be back for the midweek games this week.

Tips for Game Week 31

Game week 31 crams in a busy schedule of Premier League fixtures with all of the top seven teams playing twice – other than Arsenal. Teams with the most favourable fixtures are Tottenham and Liverpool who both face easier opposition. Liverpool returned to form against Everton on Saturday with both Coutinho and Mane amongst the goals. They will however only have two games left for the month after game week 31. Most other teams have four, personally I’ll be avoiding them despite having slightly easier fixtures. I’d also be tempted to line up some Man Utd players with their Europa League knockout ties approaching. If they all remain injury free I’m happy with my representation of Rojo, Bailly, Pogba and Ibrahimovic. For as long as they remain in the Europa League I will be keeping these four in my side.

  1. Hi, I’m so very tempted to transfer Jamie Vardy for Diego Costa before tonight’s games..Leicester appear to have turned a corner and vardy is getting back to his best.
Leicester also have plenty fixtures left this month including two champions league games.
    What do you think?
    TIA.

    1. Hi Steve, I certainly agree with transferring Diego Costa out. However personally, I’ll not be looking at Vardy. They do have plenty of extra fixtures and have certainly turned a corner but they could easily slip back into their previous rut. Ibrahimovic and Aguero are must haves for me until the end of the season. If Kane was fit he would be my third striker. As this is not an option I’d rather stick with a striker who has already picked up a good amount of points this season – such as Sanchez or Lukaku, if Costa’s form does not improve quickly.
