Review of Game Week 33

Review of Game Week 33

GW Points: 82
Overall Points: 2,112
Overall Rank: 61,718
Transfers: None used

If I was in with a chance of winning anything, game week 34 would have been a very success week. 82 points were scored and the team has now jumped to its highest position in the overall leaderboard. I think the last few months have proven that my logic behind transfers and player selection is well thought through and does get good results. Had I been within touching distance of the top of my mini leagues at around Christmas – I’d certainly now be in a position where I’d be in with a shout of winning them. In my opinion a few game weeks early in the season where results didn’t go my way has pretty much cost me the chance of winning anything.

Positives:

Liverpool players again came through the strongest with the additional game in midweek. Salah once again proved why he was absolutely essential rather than a differential player. Had I gone for someone who other players hadn’t considered to try and gain back points, I’d be much further behind by now. Firmino also had a good game week and it was good to see Mane score as well.

Azpilicueta getting 10 points was another good result.

Potential Issues:

Walker and Sane not getting game time for City is a concern. As City now have little to play for I’d ideally take them both out if I could.

Arsenal resting players in the Premier League is another concern. In hindsight Lacazette may have also been a better option than Ozil.

Tips for Game Week 34

If you’re fortunate to have any transfers left for the month, I’d still personally favour Liverpool players. They have a favourable fixture against Stoke at the weekend and the return leg in the Champions League during the week. Although I expect players to be rested, most of their big names should get at least one game. They also look likely to make the final. The other teams I’d be looking at are Chelsea, Man Utd and Arsenal. Who all have something to play for. Although Arsenal’s Europa League tie looks favoured slightly against them now which could be something to consider, they do however have two games this week.

As always, feel free to share your own progress, suggest any players to look out for or provide any other useful comments below.

  1. How’s everyone feeling about the last set of transfers.

I would say these players look good.

    Att: kane, Jesus

    Mid: sterling, kdb, Sanchez, Ericson

I don’t plan to use anything in defence.

    Penny for your thoughts

    1. I’ve gone for Kane with Lukaku making way due to his injury. I’m likely to take Ozil out for Hazard.

  2. DT, Any chance of tips for players/teams and fixtures for the final month?
    Cheers

    1. I’ve just put the list of fixtures remaining on the latest blog post. I’ve gone for Kane for the injured Lukaku.
